Still working on the Moonstone material. Modeling the gold wire was fun, created splines and used a rail extrude in Lightwave. Any and all comments appreciated. Ron

That's fantastic Ron ..
Some of the highlights on the gold are resembling that Photomatix HDR-ish look ---- Which IMO, ..is giving it a nice stylized quality.
Nice ripped paper edge.

Wou! I though first one was a reference picture. In the second one I would make the holes more imperfects and with different sizes.
Amazing work!

I agree, because i was also fooled to think the first one was the reference photo. But now i understand it's not..

the second one could be more convincing, but it's getting there.
Good job Ron!

wow. it's really looking like a reference photo.
it looks slightly blurred though, or is this just my imagination?
the second one looks sharper.

Thanks guys! The second one needs more work, I am re-rendering with a straight emerald ior on the gems and a redo on the holes. It's been fun playing around with various gem materials. Also having a good time with the wire, making all sorts of twisty things.

Very nice Ron. The torn paper is a nice effect. I think the tear edge should be a little softer.

Thanks for your kind comments guys.
tom, I am very happy with the moonstone too...and tom it's really a product of you and other's input and material sharing here. It's the old saying about, "Standing on the shoulder's of giants".
Here's the last adjustment on the earrings...I think it's finished.
Cheers, Ron
