any idea how to get some more refraction in the diamonds? its in a studio setup right now with softbox mxi's on 5 sides... thanks.

To make diamond shine you should need less softboxes and a lot of small emitters, because what makes the diamond shine is contrast as much a the light itself. Currently the lignting looks very uniform ! Maybe a black bg could help to compare to the reference !

come on....mr. t's the man!

actually, she'll probably never even wear the shirt..haha..

added a bunch of emitters.. and lost some of the softboxes.. think the diamonds read a little better.

The diamonds look better with the dark background.

seems to be that maybe the emitters arent really doing much for the diamonds though.. there are like 6 small round emitters on varying angles...right thing to do?

You need about 75% of the space above the diamonds covered in hdri/mxi softbox emitters, and 25% of darkness to bring out the scintilation in the diamonds... Make 1-2 emitters small and the rest big as suggested above. Don't overlap the emitters either.

thanks Blitzor...going to try that now..

unfortunately, its back to a white background because they cannot digitally print on a black shirt :-/

haha..that was probalby the best it got :-/ the amount of detail that can be printed on a shirt is pretty minimal anyway...doesnt look great, but she laughed..thats what counts :)
