Am really impressed with this renderer after using Vray for many years. Have learnt a fair bit from this project - especially modelling lights and such like! Multilight is of course profoundly powerful....

comments would be appreciated as this is my first attempt...

thanks

:D Funny, my first Maxwell attempt was a plane, a sphere, a cylinder and a box....

Great start!!! The lens and scattering effect is too strong...

Great start and oniric atmosphere! Have you modeled the lenses for those pavement spotlights, or have you implemented some kind of workaround?

i experimented with various reflectors and found the best/quickest solution was to have just the emitter inside a faceted reflector. No lens however....:-)

Wow..cool renders...I especially like the 2nd from last of the 3d plan render with the black backdrop. Could I ask how you acheived this method. And do you think I could achieve that same look with this plan......assuming I put in emitters..

thanks for all the kind words. the cutaway model was simply done by hiding key elements from camera through the object properties dialogue.
