fooling with SSS

LOVE it! cant wait to see it in a finished scene.. AWSOME to see somethign natural and differnt w/ maxwell! A great idear and great model! keep on workin it!

I just finished remodelling the wings but I don't like the material just yet. they look fine from a distance but close up is not so good.
anyway Thought I would put it in a quick scene.
a caption? a drink among friends?

Nice scene... I do like the sss. I think we are not used to see these so up close but they are indeed a little translucent. The table top seems to be under a cloudy sky. So it is a bit unreal to see a super shiny metal table top outdoors.
I think these kind of mosquitoes have a darker color and are driven by warm blood, not soda.

update on the mosquito. made him more hippy like. I like the wings a bit more.

Now it's starting to look more like a real mosquito

nice work so far. But an extra touch would be to create a good looking human skin to place it on with armhair and veins and such and then render it with a tight dof.
