Ultra Low Poly SketchUp Cars !!!!

I've always had a bit of an ongoing personal project of getting really high quality cars at the lowest processing cost (low poly count, high render quality)! And I think I've finally cracked it!

Although as you can see I've still got a fair way to go this is just the progress so far! Please only consider the side of the car the rest is not mapped with high res images as yet. Rendered in maxwell with only one material.

This project has tested to the maximum all my skills in mapping in SU, photoshop skills and maxwell studio and materials..

And today I really sat down and worked it all out!!!! I'll post some later work soon!

Nice start with these low poly' models. I think a few more polygons around the wheel arches would help make your cars look better. I don't like the flat look of the wheels but I suppose that's the trade off for low poly' models.

A nice normal map might fix the flat looking wheels and other areas.

Thanks guys,

I've actually worked out how to simplify the process somewhat which has been a great advantage in the modelling, textures and mapping though has made the MXM work difficult for now!

I'll add a few polys to the tyres though the inclusion of a disk rotor has livened up the wheels much more!

Still working to minimise the geometry and the maps in the mxm as i really want for them to be light weight in all aspects.

I'll keep you posted!!!
