Thought I'd go ahead and start a new wip for anyone who's bored and browsing for new topics. It's been kinda dead in here lately it seems...
Anyway, this is a project for work. Started on it yesterday and it's due Monday, so it looks like I might be working this weekend..
It was originally due Wednesday, but it got moved
forward. I swear, the decision makers around here have no idea how much work goes into this stuff!
Not much yet, but crits are welcome. Help me improve it and keep my job.
The boss's motto is "You're only as good as your last project."

A good start for just one day.
Believe me, my company are just the same as yours. I am building a college building and interior atrium space as well a Retail Park at the same time.
They ask for renders all the time to take to clients. Yet they have me working with a Pentium 4 machine! What annoys me is they agree a totally impossible timeframe in a meeting with the client, without consulting me to how long it will take. They are forever promising walkthroughs, although I continually tell them that man would be living on Mars before I could finish one with Maxwell
Looks like I am getting an Octo-core soon, as they have realised that it is a bag of dog doo this computer.

The new 8-core will definately help.
Here's an overnight render of my progress:
Problems:
Concrete bump needs to be reduced.
Need to make the dark gray steel more reflective.
Need to adjust the color of the bricks and concrete.

Looking good.

No it's the client's "Red". Does it look orange on your screen? I'm seeing red. Maybe it could be a bit darker...

Nah, it looks red here, albeit unnaturally intense.

Update:
Issues:
1. Floating bushes!
2.Textures/modelling for the large building behind it.
3. Going to change the concrete retaining walls to brick.
4. More...
5. Get lots of overtime.

Nice Mazda........looks like you're well on your way to keeping your job.......until the next one then, eh?
Your boss's motto is a good one, but yeah I'm glad I'm not an employee anymore...........it's a pain being asked to make fires with just a couple of damp sticks.
I think the glass under that canopy should be much darker maybe........other than that you're doin' good in the time.

Thanks!
I plan to put a reflecting plane out there for the glass to reflect some trees and landscape. Right now it's just reflecting sky which makes it too bright.

Looks interesting
The environment reflection for the windows is a great idea, maybe you can try to put some clouds and their shadows on the building to bring some more life to the scene.
