Made quickly as a test.
Rendered to S.L. 17 at 2000 px.
The box is completely closed with only the one light source.
Feel free to post your renders here too.
Maxwell does such a great job with bouncing light around in this type of rendering, I'd like to see what others could come up with.
If you aren't familiar with them:

I used a little scattering simulens on this one.
The glass is "Low Grade Glass" from the wizard.
The light is a preset cold flourescent 65 watt increased to 100 watts.
Box is 8 ft wide and 10 ft high if I remember correctly.

Hi!
I did these two with maxwell beta quite a while ago:

Very clean Bubbaloo. The filleted box seems to show a bit faceting though

Thanks!
I noticed that the chamferbox object that I used wasn't smoothed about half way through the rendering and said Oh Well...

not enough segments in the fillets i think!
An old anisotroped one:

water test, with real caustics. Visible caustics because we do not look through the water surface.

Cool!
On that note, shouldn't there be caustics reflected on the walls?

Yes, maybe at SL 20? this is SL 10...

here is the same scene at SL 18.14

no reflected caustic yet... is that a normal behaviour?

I don't think water will reflect much light from this angle. Most of the light will pass through the water surface and... stay down there for a while ... at least as long as Maxwell Render is having these "issues"...

one could make a try with light at less perpendicular angle...

There are absolutely reflected caustics in that render... clear as day.

on the walls above the water..?... perhaps but they are almost totally invisible

.....
i see just some very feeble little caustic here and there...
perhaps they should be so little and feeble,,,
instead under the water they are very strong and ther are many of them.
... seems strange

That's fresnel effect, I think. Set the emitter on the side wall near the water and you'll see much more reflected and less refracted.
