Hey guys, long time! :D

Things have been ridiculously busy around here, which is equally good and bad for obvious reasons :) This image is the result of one (long) weeks work, and after many sleepless nights, I'm finally getting somewhere with it. There are several materials that need changing (slate, hedge in background, path, corrugated roof,) and several other things to go in, but I thought that it could do with some fresh opinions!

As always feel free to rip it to pieces :D And yes....all of those plants are modelled...don't ask :?

Cheers,
Dr Merman

The composition is very well calibrated...weird that the portion that is worse at this point is the house itself! If i were in you the first worth of your attention should be house details and the plaster...you are making a business of archviz, don't you?

Last  you said we shouldn't ask IF plants are modeled, and i won't, but i'll ask you is HOW they are modeled or which pack do they come from?

Thanks for the reply, Mattia :) I agree with you that the house itself is one of the weakest parts, and that is why I've decided to pretty much cover it in ivy! :D I'm just optimizing the rest of the scene and then I'll add it in and post a new render. The slate roof is changing as well because its just horrible right now.

The plants - all hand-modelled. Basically I created one lo-poly plant of each species, and then using some scripting in Maya, I was able to create as many variations as needed. I then used clip-maps to create the leaves. It's the main feature of the complex, so the client wanted it to look extra special, which was....nice of them :D

Cheers guys, keep them coming,

Dr Merman

Wow, how many polygons in this scene?
Looks good so far. I agree with the other comments.
