:) you need all the good luck wishes you can get if you're ever gonna finish that piece of thingy Will, it looks close to impossible.

Couldn't you find a more difficult piece of mechanical thingy to model ? :)

I wish i never posted this now - was going to delete it but you all replied too quick. Anyway i started modelling in Solidworks but i reckon i might need to learn and use Modo for some parts. Maybe i'll not try and recreate the exact textures/i.e. exactly where the scratches are but something pretty close.

The model isn't quite right at the moment anyway - need to put it into Maxwell to see how the camera displays it to start with i think.

Mike Verta had some great metal tests in the past, part of his artoo model.

Will, you shouldn't remove your threads and especially not this one considering what your SW model looks like now, it's ..wow! :shock: it's beautiful.
