Here is something I started last night. I have a Lego A-Wing Fighter (Star Wars) that I will build. :)

Very realistic in terms of lighting. Only the pieces need super tiny bevels.

They've got 'em. Maybe they're too small? :?

It may be a case of materials. A shiny plastic material will probably reveal those edges better than a diffuse grey.

Nice on BTW. Looking forward to the full lego model.

I went back and forth on materials on these. Too shiny, not shiny enough, too shiny... Guess I settled on not shiny enough!

Base roughness no more than 90.

Thanks, it seems automatic to set it at 99. I didn't even think to change the base roughness also.

Modeled a few more. Made some material changes. Better?

Better... but in my 35 years of handling legos (as a kid, and now with my kids) the "lego" text on the top of each piece is more legible than how it appears in your scene... Maybe the text should be slightly taller, or each letter should be a bit thinner.

Thank you, you are right! I will fix it.

Very cool!
You can play also with the original Lego digital designer

True... but have you also found the interface and speed of that tool to be pretty bad? I have an intel mac with adequate ram (2G) and good video, but LDD is super-slow, and frankly weird.

To make LDD truly usefull, maybe NL can create a plugin for Maxwell! :)

You mean I've been busting my @ss modelling these, and there is a lego designer available? That just figures...

Hehe, sorry, I didn't wanted to say it that way. And certainly lego pieces dont have enough detail for a close view. Yours are a lot better for sure!
