Multi-light rocks!!

I just spent some time setting up a couple of bulbs to use as import files for scenes (the halogen bulb I modeled, and the incandescent bulb is a sample model that ships with Rhino 4.0). I'm using Rhino with the Maxwell plug-in, and the workflow is awesome. All I have to do when I want some lighting is to import the appropriate bulb 3dm file, and I instantly have a fully ajustable accurate light source. These three images were from one render with the multilight option.

wow, looks nice! :D

Yes, multilight is very nice feature, but sometimes I think it's a double-edged sword.

I'm not sure how many polys, but all the parts of the bulb are there in case I need them. Sometimes it's nice to show a client an exploded view with all the connectors etc., but when the bulb is encased in a fixture, many of the parts can be switched off to save on scene size.

i'm asking not because of the scene size, but because high poly emitters add very much to the rendering times.
