Terragen 2 & Maxwell. New update 12/2/07

First test:-

Direct .LWO export from Terragen into Studio. 16 land sections each 2.5kmx2.5km.
The camera & focal point, are at opposite corners of the diagonal of the 10kmx10km landscape.

I think this might be why there is so much vignetting. Not happy with the result over huge distances.

I'm going to try another render with the focal point nearer the camera, to see if that reduces the vignetting.

5.6 Fstop 100 ISO 250 Shutter 35mm lens

Clouds are clip mapped plane & need work. ;)

Will be running some more export tests from Terragen, to see what other elements can be exported. Water, clouds etc.

Cool idea to try this .. did you manage to get the textures exported as well for the mountains?

I've been working on this today after some more thought on the vignetting problem.

Very low sl, but higher bench mark of 23.xx, this is grabbed after 10mins of rendering & it's still running. I'll post that version tonight.

I've used my cloud system for Maxwell that's still a work in progress, but it's starting to look a bit more convincing I think. A few more map tweaks......

The terrain is not mapped apart from adding new cubic projectors, and a sandstone material. The shading variance should be coming from the cubic mapping. The new projectors were for the real scale system to work correctly for the textures.

I've not yet been able to create a colour map from Terragen, or export anything other than heightfields.

Fixed the vignetting problem. Moving the focal point to 25m from 10000m has fixed it.
Maxwell has serious problems with huge focal distances and very small focal distances. :evil: I'll start a seperate thread regarding that.
