Wow, that's pretty cool.
Superb work with the modeling, I'm trying to work out how you've built this. Nurbs, poly modeling?
Tim.

it ends up being "solid modeling" like that of solidworks but i am using a program called Generative Components. its in beta right now from Bently and lets you create parametric geometry using purely script. the entire building minus the site is created with a 20kb 50line script. its prety amazing new software. exported to maya via IGES. the "fins" on the facade parametrically change based on the angle of the sun/ normal angle of the glass to create a shading system/structural system.
thanks for the support tim it says a lot coming from you

i went ot theri website, but I don't understand if its a new program or a plugin for microstation.
I have also seen others use this software but I am wondeirng if you don;t mind sharing something about your desing process with this piece of software and how you went about designing modeling this I think it is interesting.

its neither a plug in or new program- it runs inside microstation XM but you dont use any microstation controls there are new control windows. it just pigi-backs off of microstations graphics right now. as far as my design goes its about the ability for each piece of geometry to be conected to each other ina parametric and intelligent way. here is the code(actual file GC uses, there is no other geometry file) that created the model

wow .. amazing, all from some script !! .. I used Microstation about 10 years back, this seems really nice.

robert sorry for bothering you with silly questions, but I am highly interested in GC and I can't figure how to get the software. I subscribed to the newsletter but I am still wondering where to get some more info.
By the way, really interesting architecture, keep posting!

GC is not available to the public, only a very small number of firms have access to the beta for development purpose. sorry

Thanks robert. I was suspecting it but I wasn't able to find it clearly written. I hope to see it avilable to the public one day or the other.
