This is something I'm doing on the side for my old firm…it's the proposed marine mammal exhibit for the New England Aquarium. Right now I'm only being asked to finish the model and I just did a quick clay render (using Rhinoll defaults + New York location/time {why no Boston?? :( })

Modeling in Rhino, don't remember how many hours…cooked for 1hr

the last view makes me wish mw had camera clipping planes since the back of the exhibit is attached to the existing building…

still have to model the water and the visible light fixtures (though they haven't finalized the selections). Roof panels will be polycarbonate, different color each roof; haven't quite figured out how to make a good polycarb-material that will clear-up quickly yet--any suggestions??

Modeling looks good but the renders are a bit dark atm. Use a lighter diffuse material and it should brighten up your scene a bit. Also, to get locations in boston check out how to use google earth KML files.

Maxwell does not have clipping planes but you can hide an object from the camera and it will still cast shadows and reflections and so forth. I've used it before when I wanted to use a sensible camera lens size and had to place my camera outside the building. I just hid the exterior wall from the camera and it was just like a clipping plane. Just an idea.

New update is looking really good. Its a shame you might not be going any further with it, it'd look awesome textured.
