Hello again,
Here are a couple of finished images from a volumetric study i am working on. It is only a proposal to explore the impact of a district once they add a metro rail extension. So pretty much is a quick model showing a possible future, hence the repetiveness and lack of Real detail.

Laters,

I'll post the rest as i get them done.

I think they look great. Nice renders for what they are going to be used for.

nice images!
are those trees 3d?
if so...how can you manage such a massive number of trees?

Yes they are 3d. All of the palm trees, trees and light posts. My only trick, that seems to always work is to bring one into the scene and then copy it as a refereence over and over. The model does not become as heavy and it renders pretty ok as far as speed.

thanks...
but since maxwell doesnt support instanced geometry, mxs file must be huge. am i right?

It is not much bigger than ussual 437mg. It takes sometime to do the Volex... but not incredibly long. I did notice that the first time i rendered it it took much linger to create geometry fom max though, and longer in Volex... so it must help somehow.
