This is a revision of an old alpha render (some of you may remember).
It demonstrates enhanced/corrected fresnel and internal reflections in the latest version.
Alpha version was looking like this:

I didn't have the details for alpha, it's not possible to say something accurate but I remember it took much more longer than new one.

Nice renders Tom, and the new one is difinitely much improved. More clarity, better highlights and reflections. Though if I were asked which one was cg and which one was a photo, I would pick the new one to be cg, I dont know why but the old one looks more like a photo.

perhaps too much higligts and the rest.?.. alpha IMO looks more natural....

Well, I understand.. but it totally depends on the conditions. Having huge plane emitters on both sides 1.1 simulated the expected correctly. Perceptionally the alpha image may look more realistic, however it was not simulating the conditions as they should be but something else.
