I know what you mean about the bushes.
Here's some of the exterior lighting I started working on.

I agree with Macray on the bushes - even as a subtle feature of the overall render they do stand out a bit because of how patterned and perfect they look. Otherwise it's looking great. Love the sharpness of the textures. Lighting looks cool too. Makes the road texture look really nice. Should be a great final image.

This might be a little overkill, but I wanted to try it anyway since I haven't played with the new motion blur yet.
It becomes quite taxing on rendertime when it's calculating the indirect light from the emitter trails (4 sided spheres).
I'll probably end up running it separately and then comping it into final render if it fits in.

So they drive on the left or the right?

I have two questions if you don't mind:

1.-What program do you use for modelling?

2.-Who makes this kind of buildings nowadays?

Great modelling, by the way.

brian, hadn't thought of that. thanks!

fernando, i wasn't even thinking about which side road cars were. let's say a one way crossing a two way for the sake of the rendering.
this was modeled in max. this is a phase 2 rendering for a project i originally worked on in early 2009. it's an apartment complex outside of downtown Houston, TX.

below is an earlier test from today along with a test from earlier this week using physical sky on the model.

(i lopped off the tops of hedges with a substitute mesh, not too worried about them currently as any repetitiveness can be solved with a few clone brush strokes later on)

 Gangsta sound booth session!

Thanks B! Ill post results from sound booth slider set in the next day or so. I took your advice and spent a little bit of time adjusting keyframes for "car lights" and decided to include them in next full pass test opposed to rendering seperately.

Very interesting WIP Tom!, I'll definitively follow your process.

Have a nice day,

hey, brian. here's how normal pass can become handy:

(I use "Normality" which is a free plugin for after effects. more info here: http://www.3dcg.net/manual/normality-user-guide/)

will blur peeps in post first. then do a test with them generating motion in scene and compare from there...
