Having spent some time breaking objects in Max based on Material ID and then moving these to separate layers for editing, I was wondering if a workflow exists for texturing multi subobjects in 3ds Max using Maxwell materials.

I know one can export the MXS and do the texturing in Maxwell Studio - having had some issues doing this in the past, (MXS in Studio didn't want to save due to some reason related to object or material), I am interested in achieving the texturing using the plugin.

Can anyone help please?

OK. Having done some more reading I am feeling maybe not. I know the subobject material is a specific material - just wondering if anyone has a non-maxscript plugin (or maxscript) workaround to link the submaterials to maxwell materials??

Yes. multi/sub-ojbect material of max is work well in maxwell plugin.

But if you use a emitter material for an sub material of that, you have to detach the polygon which assinged emitter material.

I hope that next build can do this without detach.
