I just updated my 1.5.3 to 1.5.6 to take advantage of the shift lens feature. I am using win XP 64 bit with Max9 32 bit and Max9 64 bit. It happens on both similarly.

I reinstalled the 1.5.3 again, hoping it would write over the 1.5.6, which now the Maxwell Plug-in Update Notifications says "Currently installed version: 1.5.3, but it still has the same "skinny" update preview bar button.

Everytime I go to update a material that has an exclamation point it will hang, until I end the "mxcl.exe *32" process in the task manager.

If I try to render a scene it just gives me a "Reading MXS File: C:\...\temp\mxs33.tmp
Error: MXS file is invalid" in the console tab??

Please advise. Another thing I just noticed is the version is still 1.1 in the mxcl.exe box?? Should it be this??

PS - My other machine I am running 1.5.3 with Max9 32 bit without issues, with the same file. The update preview takes 2 seconds to update and I render fine, without errors.

If MXCL is displaying version 1.1, than it's no good. Try reinstalling 1.5. Also, after reinstalling, check the path under the $MAXWELL_ROOT environment variable by typing in your command prompt. It should point to the newly installed 1.5 version.

Thanks Bogdan - problem solved. Not sure what happened there but just had to reload 1.5 and all was good. Thanks again.
