[solved] Image Background - variation on the bug

I have set up an mxi as the background in Max9 (latest versions of Maxwell installed). Its very awkward as there is no preview in the viewport, but anyhow....thats really bad, but its not the main problem......

It renders OK to start off with, but then for no reason after a few test renders, it stops working. I tried it on several machines but it wont work. SO, I started a new scene, merged in the old scene and (using all same settings) it starts to work again. Then, if I close the file and open it (or if I move it onto another machine, which has all the correct paths for the mxi file) it will not work. Also, it does not work during CoOp rendering.

I hope this is being fixed soon - or is there a workaround ?

to put it another way - is anyone able to use a background image with the Max plugin and get it to work consistently ? right now I cant get it to work. sometimes it works, but mostly it does not work & it definitely does not work with coop rendering :(

Is the aplha tag enabled? MXI/HDRI backgrounds won't be displayed at render with this enabled.

Does it still happen on a coop render, if you render from mxcl and add a network job?

Tim.

Hey Tim - thanks for that tip. So far it seems to be working well with the alpha disabled. Perhaps that is why it wasnt working during coop (which I always do from mxcl).

Same for coop as on one machine. ;)

Glad to help.
