1.5 plug ins have an annoying pop up windows everytime I load my material editor or change/apply a material on my scene. Also the process seems to be much more slow than before.

What does the window say?

it gives you information of each indivudual render time of each material on the browser. An every single time I apply a material on my scene.

Right click a slot in the material editor, choose options and check "Manual Update". Does this help?
Which version of Max are you using?

The window that pops up when you make a material preview is MXCL which is rendering the preview. We can hide it but Max is frozen until the preview is done anyway, at least this way you can see that it's doing something.
However, this shouldn't happen when you drag a material in the scene. It should only happen when you click "update preview" or use the floating preview window. Are you sure it's the same window when dragging the material into the scene?

I agree, it is not annoying.

Yes, we see it only when updating preview.
