Are you using the most recent plugin? The one prior to the current one was rotated 90 degrees so that X was north.
You should also make sure that you have the correct time offset for your area, though being in Rome, you should already be near GMT 0 (if that's not your zone already)

I found it to be a bit buggy sometimes but it corrects when setting a city from the list (I usually choose Madrid).

Need a compass dummy so that north can be arbritary like Max's Sunlight system, rotating my scene is frustrating.

Anyone know if this is due for the new version of Maxwell?
It is a relatively useless system if you are modelling something rather square and don't want to have to point the whole scene at an arbritary angle to get it pointing north...
It's a number modifier afterall, north offset 0-359
