Camera correction modifier

In VIZ and 3ds MAX there is a Camera correction modifier. (right click camera > apply camera correction modifier). This modifier allows the vertical lines of a building for example (perspective distortion) to straighten when you render with a small lens. This option is very useful for rendering architecture.
However, when I apply this modifier it doesn't seem that Maxwell notifies this modifier. Is there a change that this could be implemented? It would save me alot of "cameraplacement frustation".

This has been requested several times in the "Wish List" section of the forum. I don't believe there has ever been an official response from Next Limit, but right now it seems to not be in the pipeline.

I think there would be problems implementing this feature, might take a while or be something that would be avoided tackling by the programmers. V-ray currently has problems rendering standard materials and this particular modifier.

This was discussed before but I can't recall where. Currently there's no support in the renderer for this feature. It could be "faked" by the plug-ins by doing some math and using a region render, but there are problems with this approach so we decided to wait until a proper implementation is done in the renderer itself.
Later edit: I found the thread where this was discussed, here's
the link to the full explanation of why faking it in the plug-ins is not the best option.

Thanx for the reply guys.
I didn't know it was already an issue, however it's strange that such a tiny, but very important feature is missing in Maxwell.
It shouldn't be too hard to apply the modifier on top of the camerasettings should it?
It's also a strange behaviour that Maxwell "remembers" the data of the camera when you turn your cameraview in perspective mode. Now that you can render a perspective viewport you should say that it would render that what you see in your perspective viewport (the camera offset).
