I'm not able to see my map in the viewport like the old plugin allowed. I've tried the view map in viewport options etc, and haven't gotten it to work yet.

Any ideas? Probably something simple, but I don't see it.

Use the traditional max method: go to the bitmap node you want to preview and hit the "show map in viewport" button.
