hehe i found the reason behind why i kept this error beside all the good help from you guy n gals:

my scene is basicaly a container for some hundred xref-objects. with v1.0 i had to merge the materials in order to get them rendered. now with v1.1 i was happy to see that this is not necessary anymore, but some objects just complained with the "triangles without material".

now i found out that only those objects cause the error that had SINGLE-materials! all MULTI-materials worked!

solution: give all objectsa multi-material even thought you might only need one material for your object. dont forget to assign the id and everything works now like it should.
