Hello Wither, i recommend use MXM material in actual 3d studio plugin. Some maps in color/specular channel in tradicional materials (such as plastics) don´t work correctly during render process.
Sorry for inconvenience

Please, if you have doubts/suggestion/problems etc aobut 3d studio plugin post them here, in order not to collapse other threads.
Thanks in advance

Hey wither, i just did a test render of an old scene. I replaced all objects with 1 base diffuse shader. I then tried to start from scratch with a new set of materials from within 3dmax. As always something is not working within 3dmax. Clip maps did not render, texture maps came up when they wanted, scattering not working (is it even available? i heard something about it not being in 1.0, don't know if im wrong tho). Its as if everything inside of max is useless unless the new material editor is used. I dont mind that but it is frustrating that the simple things arent working outside of studio. I experimented with mxm materials and they all rendered fine from within 3dmax, they look brilliant. More tests being done now. This post isnt meant to solve anything, im having same probs as you, just thought id let it out

yea, this is what I've found.
plastics : materials out of max don't render with maps. When you load the file in studio, they don't render in preview or in the rendering. If you re-build the material in studio from scratch it works very well.
diffuse : ok
metal : no map for the colour.
Next, I'll be experimenting with putting mxm materials in max from the studio material editor.

By parts, if you want to use clipmap you can´t use clipmap of difusse maxwell material (as we did in Beta version). If you want to use Scattering correctly you must use MXM materials.
We must understand that the old materials (diffuse, dielectric, plastics and metalics) have not been improved in 1.0. If you want to use advance features such as clipmap,AGS,Scattering...you must use MXM materials
