Hi, to export from 3DSMax follow this routine.
F10 to open render dialogue.
Change assign renderer to Maxwell.
Set image resolution in first render dialogue tab.
In second render dialogue tab:-
Render control - change scene scale size, time to render.
Enviroment - if no emmitters in your scene, check either skydome or physical sky for lighting.
System - Output mxs button to name and save mxs file on render. Output image button to name and save rendered image. (Add suffix for image type.)
(The box that has an Edit button next to it and says -d is for manually changing render options. The -d switch means that mxcl will display an image as it renders a scene. -hd will use the hard disk instead of ram, but won't show an image whilst rendering, only use for rendered image resolution of over 1000x1000.)
Now when you press the render button, mxcl will render the image.
If you want to open the scene in MR Studio without rendering the scene first, un-check the 'Launch mxcl' box in the System tab of the 3DSMax render dialogue. Press render button, which will create the mxs file but won't open mxcl.
Now open MR Studio and open the mxs file you just created.
In my initial tests today, if you use the new Max plugin to export a scene created and textured for the beta, you can render this with RC5.
There is a new option in Max for the MXM material, in the 'new material' dialogue in Max's material editor. The beta materials still appear there and will import into RC5. I didn't have chance to try with a material that has an image file though.
Hope this helps,
Tim.
