what's wrong with my maxwell?

Greetings...

This is the second time where I start rendering something and the time and "level" seen to go slower that what they should...

Example I start rendering something last night... and 8 hours later Maxwell shows
>> Frame Updated.
[3h 58m 39s] of [166h 39m 0s] , current sampling level : 5

and after 18 hours
>> Frame Updated.
[9h 53m 57s] of [166h 39m 0s] , current sampling level : 7

Now I did a very similar render the other day and the "Maxwell time" was running fine and with the same amount of time (18 hours )I was at level 16??!!

is maxwell beta 1.2.1 the latest?? I just found out that I'm not running the latest mayall... could that be it? I'm running 0.8.9beta (if I upgrade to the latest version will I lose all my work in my scene?)

Regards,
leo

You should start with updating your Maxwell to the very latest version, check on the update site given to you when you ordered it. And i cannot imagine it would cause any trouble with your scene, you might have to go through it and check materials and lights, just common stuff.

Other than that it's difficult to say what else could cause it, maybe your shaders, lightsetup and stuff like that affects the total time. How about showing us a example of your scene rendered..

Well, I'm not planning to install anything new until I finish rendering this scene (I don't feel like going over the lights and materials)

Actually i think that looks quite ok considering the old version you're using and the resolution of your rendering. You just have to let it calculate ALOT longer, then it will look better but give it time to refine the image much more.

(and here you can read a little about it)

Infact my new render looks better in the noise department... I stoped the render and re-start it, and it seens (until now) that the "Maxwell time" is moving at the same speed as my clock

It happened to me also

Hi Leonardo.

This thing you described happened to me a couple of times.
It looks like the clock is running at half speed.

Thought this was some kind of a problem of myone.
