You don't have a rendering to show us so we can see what exactly you're talking about ? it would be easier to give better more qualified help.

Otherwise artifacts in the physical sky such as visible colorbanding if you have that can be resolved by rendering to another format than jpeg, try tga or tiff or something like that. But that might not be part of your problem..

not to hi jack this thread but do certain maxwell materials cause more problems than others. I know dielectric cause more artifacts....right? As well as metals. I heard of people using maxwell plastics shaders for metal, instead of useing the maxwell metals. One day all this stuff should be mute..

i'm not sure whether i get your message right - but if ...

the time and the sampling levels you set tell mw to stop rendering when one of them is reached, those are no numbers to "use" in any way.
