section cut is a mod tool isn't it?
So it must be in your 3d mod soft, not in the renderer!

I don’t know how to say it, but there is a way in other programs to make the camera move through a building or an object . That you can render a sections throw your object... it s better then cutting the model in half. In other way to say it. it is a large square ( which is the cam ) you can place it in the middle of you building or the object and you can render it as section . I know 3dmax dose not have it but there is plug-in for max cam to do it.
so it is a wish list righ or we do have it ?

Yep you're right, i saw it one time but don't know the tool name.
And i don't think NL plan to implement it in Maxwell (at less not for the moment).

I tried using clipping planes and maxwell kept bombing out on me so I figured it wasnt supported....guess it must have been something else wrong

Standard Camera works with Maxwell, so maybe try the clipping planes

I always define my cam place by perspective view, and Ctrl+C that creates a standard cam.
I often mistook, forgetting to use a Maxwell Cam, and it worx with Standard, but no control on Fstop & shutterspeed of course
