did you ever use a real camera?
its the same way, fstop<=>exposure time

Raise the ISO when you raise the f/stop.

If you raise the F-stop you do make a sharper image and less DoF effect the image.

So in order for more light to get in you raise the ISO. Default is 100. Try 200-400

i think all the dof/fstop/shutter speed/exposure stuff has been explained hundred of times. just try searching the forums, i'm pretty sure you'll find lot of info bout it.
