THE FOLLOWING RENDERTIMES BY USING MAXWELL CLOCK!
NOT A STOPWATCH.
I MENTION THAT BECAUSE UNDER MAC PEOPLE HAVE SEEN UPTO 50% DIFFERENCE!!!

I would like to upload a scene so we can all test it with different computers and figure out settings and optimization tricks !!! (if they are)

the following scenes are not identical:

Max/3DS/OBJ -> http://www.bisand.com/skydome_test.zip (.max .3ds .obj)

Maya6 -> http://bisand.com/skydome_test_maya6[1].0.rar

.MXS FILE -> http://bisand.com/skydomemxs.zip

Type Pc Specs and rendertimes as the images below:
Renderings should be 640x480

Please Render it first without changing anything - to see what cpu is faster (xeon, mad64, amd fx-53, amd fx-55, P4, Opteron) and upload your rendertimes and Pc specs!

DO NOT change anything !!!

Sampling Level:15
Max Bounces:5
640x480
Maxwell Enviroment: Sky Dome

...Then if you like, try to make it faster but please share your tips...

happy benchmarking!

Athlon Xp2800+ (2.07Ghz): 1hr 8min 36sec (deault scene) Maxwell: 1_1_10_0001_alpha_

You can download max7 trial if you want.

how can i make them max6? ...only using max because of vray and maxwell. C4d user u see...lol :D

You can re-download the file. I just export them as .3ds but do not know if you will have the same exact scene ( mat. and colors might change rendertimes)

give a try to max7...it is free for 30days

Also maxwell is for Max6-7 so you might encounter other problems in the future... Not bad decision to use max intead of Viz in my opinion...

Dual Xeon Prestonia 2.8 OC @ 3.34Ghz: 33min 53sec (default scene skydome_test.zip) Maxwell: 1_1_10_0001_alpha

I have HT disable - current Maxwell Version has a bug and can only render with 2 threads - instead of 4!

Maybe (right now) P4's @ 3.4Ghz can render it in about 35min... :roll: :?:

Even my AMD systems render with 2 threads! ...so lets wait to compare with month's release! As far as I know this bug has already been fixed!
