Here is a scene i am working on, C&C welcome - this is about a 12 hr render resized from 1024x768

It looks a bit bare at the moment i think, i need to work on the sofa and the rug also

i think i will change the position of the sun (really would help having some kind of visual feedback for the actual position)

good start there mate...the only thing that looks odd is the mapping on the table legs.....seems to be in the wrong direction?

agreed with the legs the grain should be going vertical. Also I think that some sort of baseboard along the wall will help the transition feels to sharp

adehus - its meant to be a tv  - its kind of floating at the moment :)

Jun - i like the mood of that picture - i would like mine to be like that currently i feel mine is missing some kind of atmosphere

Anyway here is a 10 hr render with neatimage (original 1024x768)

Is the TV reflecting the stairs? Is that possible at its current angle?

Some simple PS adjustments will make it more like that photo, although you have a bit too much burn now in your image. I liked the mood in the first one better :)

some C&C if you want:

carpet needs bump + texture

I do not know how you model your glass on the TV but here is my technique: Real life! ...glass at the top and solid inside! ...works good! ...just increase the Abbe to 200!

furniture ubder TV?

DVD? ...books stuff like that make the scene real... also some scrathces at the floor don;t mind too... (you know people move objects around and destroyng stuff)

table might look better if same color with chairs!

...backround room needs somethin in there - too empty (maybe a storage space?)

very promising rendering! congrats!

...ohh and one last thing : the art at the backround (near the staircase) needs to be the most important art piece!

this is where you want our eyes to focus!

...this way you don't care so much about modeling perfectly that sofa and your scene / rendering promote your nice staircase!

...hope to find some of these usefull - look forward to see an update!

thanx,
Andronikos

baboule - thanks for the advoce - i may just tilt the whole room to get shorter shaows - it will be easier than guessing where the sun will show up if i alter its position :)

As for the view, i may do another render with a different view but i think i''ll finish the room first with this view

deesee - is it possible? :) i dont know

Mihai - How dare you destroy my image!!! - just kidding:) nice adjustments, a bit too much maybe - what process(s) did you use?
so you think the first lighting was better eh hmm maybe

Andronikas - All good points thankyou :) i will try and update it

By the way anyone using C4D i found this great plugin to make my stairs called Quickstairs - its so easy and saved much time

Just Levels and Curves adjustment layers.

I thought maybe if you move the camera to the left, so it's almost in the corner of the room.....this way you see the steps on the stair also....just an idea.
