Hello,
I was wondering if there was any way to pull off this ray effect in Maxwell?

well, but it was possible, so it will be very likely possible again sooner or later. even though, from what i've seen, volumetrics used to take veeeeeeeery long to converge to a noise free image. plus back then (when it was possible that is) we could control bounces to avoid light scattering too much, who knows how it will work with the new automatic bounce control policy.

Thanks for the replies,
Are there any Maxwell images that have the ray of light effect that I could see?

I guess the only way of knowing if we will have this feature is from someone from the NL team, I wonder if one of them could clear this up if we will have this feature?

Def4d, nope not mine image, I found those with good old Google

Thanks,
Mark

As far as I remember, they disabled the fog just temporarly, to fix some physical sky issues. So, I'm sure, it will be available for the final release.
