Very nice indeed... maybe some more texture work on the hull will make it better.

Space1999 was RAD. I used to watch it as a kid.

I used to draw eagles all over my notebooks... it's a cool ship.

I waited, but at the turn of the century the moon was still in orbit.. whew!

Nico -

Nice... can you double check to make sure your scene units are correct?

Thanks!

Hi all,

Bugyboo, Thanks!

Bakbek, indeed textures would do my scene a lot of good, but using Rhino it is not possible to texture this ship the way I would like.
I hope znouza will have his plug-in ready soon !

x_site, hehehe ;-) thanks

Tom
, Thanks!!

iandavis
, I hope that they will make a remake in the near future 8)

Hi Mike
, I'm not sure what you mean, do you see anything strange about my scene?

Thanks, Nico.

Not especially, but one of the things I like best about Maxwell is its ability to deliver scale - it's always been a problem, and I do a lot of starships ;) Anyway, the Eagle is looking a bit like a model to me, and in my experience with Maxwell, that's not texture-dependent like in other packages, so I thought I'd ask. For some reason my brain is getting light cues that say it's a small object. You might want to double check that your scene scale is millimenters and the that the Eagle is the actual real-world size.

Best,

_Mike

Thanks andronikos916!!

ah Mike, now I know what you mean, and yes it is a scale model.
scale is set to mm and my ship is about 640mm long so you are correct about the look and feel

It seems very good but maybe you may consider mapping the panels as Mike did in R2D2 ;) And avoid using big continuous metallic parts like exhausts. It would seem much more realistic.

Hi tom,

Indeed, it needs dirt and rust doesn't it, i will try to texture it when the model is ready.

Maybe Mike can give me some tips on texturing? Fantastic job you did there on R2D1!!!
