render and crash

Hi Maxwell team,

I have a bug to report.

When I start a render most of the time it crashes before it is finished
When I only use defuse materials it seems that it is more likely to finish the render.
But when I use plastic material most of the time it will not go higher than sample level 6/7

Here is all info about my settings en pc configuration:

Can you please submit MXS file with this crash.
Thank you

Due to the fact that it has 4550473 Triangles the file is 200MB I will put the file on my server and send you a PM with the download link tomorrow.

Thanks Tom for looking in to this!

Greetings, Nico.

Nico,

Is it 200Mb even after you zip it ?
Also, if you have PowerArchiver then try the 7zip format; it usually gives the highest compression possible.

Hi Thomas,

You’re right, after zipping it is now 56MB.

Tom,
I have sent you a PM with the download link.
In the zip: the MXS file, a screen shot of the crash and the result of the render at SL 13.33

Thanks, Nico.

Hi Nico,

I rendered your file in full success on 2 different computers.
No problems and crashes occured here while and after rendering.
I'll send the rendered output here and (to you with email) soon.
I think it may be about your hardware/OS configuration.

Best Regards,
Tom

p.s: btw/ your scene is great :)

Thanks Tom for looking in to this.

It’s a weird situation especially because it only occurs when using plastic for material.
Maybe increasing my virtual memory will do the trick?
Well I’ll try some things with my pc settings.

I’m very glad that you like my scene :D

Keep up the good work and support!

See you in the forum, Nico.
