dielectric diamond error?

I have set up this simple test scene in which I had dielectric glass (diamond) preset and this is what I had have recieved after 10 hours of rendering.

Im sorry if this issue has already been adressed.
I have rendered a scene in 3ds max/winxp.

Is that a highpoly spherical emitter you have there ? if so that would be one reason the excessive amount of caustic noise.. (i think)
But it still don't look quite right :/

I guess you are right, in a sence that emitter is pretty high on poly count...still should it have those black dots?

Nah i don't think it should still have those black dots there, but try with a simple plane emitter to get as lowpoly as you can. Then maybe that makes the black dots dissapear too. Who knows..
