well, my first test of maxwell...
an old scene i did few years ago...
i didn't use sss as i couldn't control it well enough, instead i used a little bit of absorption.
noise reduced with neat image...

i'm not Johan Thorngrens  ... but was inspired by his scene when i recreated mine... back then i was learning particles and sss and that scene was quite demanding for me.
i thought it was appropriate for maxwell to test...

Really nice Nody! Please render it again when we have better sss. You might even want to properly texture them, with veins and stuff...

thx for your compliments :D
Mihai, i'll sure do it... actually the original one i did with brazil has veins texture in sss...

is it the well-known initially rendered with Brazil?

To me, this scene looks awesome!

Please excuse my ignorance, however, how did you do it? Are the water drops on the grapes an effect of dynamics, or are they added as individual little drops? The same with the "spray" in the background? This would be a giant leap for me to incorporate these types of effects in my renderings...

Thanks for any and all input!

first thx again for your compliments

- little drops on grapes were done with spray particles ( i think i used a tool by digimation for spraying those around).
- rain was done with PArray and stretched to form lines of raindrops
- as for the raindrops bouncing from grapes i tried to bounce them with collision detect but wasn't satisfied with the result and it was heavy on the calculations, so i used the grapes as emitters for another PArray (one for each grape) and binded those with gravity so they fall down when emitted.

hope it helps you, if not do not hesitate to contact me for answers.

i think you mean the picture from Johan Thorngrens,
as i mentioned it before i was inspired by his picture.
back then i was learning particles and sss and that particular picture was quite demanding to reproduce.
so i gave it a shot and came out with a picture that i didn't post anywhere so you couldn't have seen it.
but hey glad that you like this one... :D

Very cool... I wouldn't have thought to use the grapes themselves as emitters.... going to have to play with this in Lightwave...
