hello, just need a small advice...
what would you recommend for some crystal wine glasses...
Crown with ND 2,000
Flint...
Crystal Quartz...
Thanks
btw, do it make any difference setting some crown or flint with same numbers... or do the presets hide more math behind...
let' s say I have crown set to ND 2,000 with abbe 190 absorb 0,01 and I choose flint an I enter the same numbers... will that give a different result...?

Hi Hervé,
The main difference between flint and crown glass, is that flint glass exhibits much higher dispersion than crown glass. If you override some values, in special abbe number, you'll get different dispersion behaviour.
Best regards,

here I found this on web...
"Dense flint glasses can have a proportion of lead oxide as high as 65%. 24% lead crystal has a refractive index of 1.56, and thus has properties similar to optical glass in the Light Flint category."

I know is a bit confusing or not very intuitive to use this glasses without seeing it efects until rendering. That's why the maxwell material editor will be very useful ( it will have material preview visualization ) for materials like this.
Best regards.
PS I like your maxwell relation equation

thats an awesome Table scene you have there. I like it alot and beside the Noise id say it looks close to real.
Id do a bit more work on the place mats and wall texture as it looks a bit clay like, but other than that you have a succesfull scene.

That's a very beautiful scene Herve!
but glasses are too small compared to the rest (knifes, dishes, etc) aren't they?

hello Thanks for your advices... maybe the glasses too small... mmm I'll check...
Fact is that table is total wrong about reflections and specularity... I maxwelled that table a while ago, and I had to re-apply (remove first then re-apply) the Maxwell shader... that table has varnish coating...
Thanks again...
(I hope they fix the reflection channel in LW fast°)
