a paging file of 1.98 gig is huge...someone else will have to help you. I'm not sure enough about M~R to answer except to say that you are using the 1.2.2a Beta right?

You don't have enought ram, your system is going to the hd, so ofcourse your render will take a lot longer. Maybe try the -hd option see if that helps.

how much ram is adiveceable? 2 gb is enough?

2GIGS seem to be the minimum.

I also had hard times with my memory, so upgrade as sooon as possible.
Meanwhile, use that MW is a standalone, and shut down everything while rendering, and use the -hd option.

Windows won't see anything above 2 Gig unless you use the 3 gig switch which doesn’t work with every system. If you can get your hands on the new 64 bit version of Windows and are brave enough to try it I think it supports up to 16 gigs of ram.

giacob - up to 2gig you don't have to set up anything. only if you want to use more you have to follow maxer's instructions.
