Ok this was just for fun to see how far beta on lightwave is pushable. I got crashes at 7000 and above. Anyway here is what it looks like at this point in small preview format.

and here is the stylized look I'm going for

These are the original Lightwave renders from a few years ago,

monte carlo, and I think it was LW7 and on a very very bad P3 with like 256 RAM
I decided to go with no textures as they were giving me some trouble now, so I will probably redo it, and by the way its still rendering. I think 40 hours left, didn't think it would make it through, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

PS I am aware of some artifacts but that's probably cause I didn't spend any time going through the model. and this quality (PS 20) so I can get it in a reasonable size from 50Mb.

You're really patient. ;)
The shadow pattern on the sofa is great! I think the whole image could use a soft, fill light from the point of view to brighten thing up a bit, but keep this nice contrast.

I like everything about this render!
It will be cool if we can see more angles :D

used both images, the new one multiplied, I know that illogical light angles occur, but it still looks better.

I'll try other angles once I get the textures and this render finishes.

if you need, I gave away some time ago some apples textures in the off topic section

very nic gloomy atmosphere....

can I ask you a question... di you ever made some tests without the metallic fence window...

I am facing that situation where I've put some miniblinds near windows... and render time exploded....

Very comfy place....

actually no. But what puzzles me, is that I actually have a glass window which doesn't seem to show up, same glass material as the screwed up glass on the table. Also you can see some artifacts on the couch arm rest. I wanted an effect more similar to the one in the old lightwave shots where there is a density to the glass. I tried many things but those glass panes don't show up. They are .5cm thick. Enough for glass. I do assume that taking the metal stuff out, along with the glass (which does give a different render) will render much faster since its a polygon heavy object which reflects and casts shadows. here's how older renders have looked. Different emitters too. As you can see, sometime that glass pane didn't render.

I see ... lots of tweaking here... BTW, what is the color of your glass... white..? maybe a tinge of blue or green would help...

... but apparetly, there are Problems with Dielectrics & sun for now... but I am sure, they'll update it soon...

Wow looks good, looks like Maxwell still has a problem with smoothing normals. you can still see the faces.
