When will the export of Maya animations to maxwell be fixed?

It seems like nobody has been able (including me) to export anything other than a still frame from Maya. :cry:

If anyone has fixed or figured out a workaround please share!

Thanks,

if you are talking about batch render not starting its because it cant understand path program files with a space in beetween. this can be solved by going to where your frames are and writing a new batch with specification for your frame name for example if you export 10 frames they will look like this:

scene_test_001.mxs
scene_test_002.mxs
all the way to
scene_test_010.mxs

copy that into a new batch file and execture, it will render all specified files.

I cant even get that far. I can't export the .mxs files from Maya 6.5 if they have more than one frame specified in the render globals.

What could I be doing wrong?

mayall -batch;
// Mayall: Starting export to Maxwell Scene
// Mayall: General Data exported
// Mayall: MXS file created: E:/Projects/flowers/renderScenes/untitled0001.mxs
// Mayall: Frame 1 exported in 0.719 seconds
// Error: A Maya Exception has occured //
// Error: A Maya Exception has occured //
// Error: Could not save file. //
// Error: Mayall couldn't perform requested action //

I posted a bug report on this... if you delete everything in the scene except the camera, it works. So it must be something with the way the geometry is being written during export...?

Yup... I'm at home now and I'm going to give it a shot here and see if its just my workstation but everything else works perfect.. just the multi-frame exports.. :cry:

When you say "sequence set to animation" do you mean in the maya render globals? I'm setting it to name##.tga and set the frame range in the main global window in maya. Is that the correct way to export an animation?

Thanks for you help,

kevin...im thinking this is maya 6.5 issue...as it works on 6.0.1 try it on 6.01 if you have it.
