it should work, it may depend on the emission intesity you gave to the jpg image before turning it into a mxi.

When we talk about an "8 bit" image format it is safe to assume that we mean 8 bits per channel - in the case of a jpg with three color channels that adds up to 24 bits.

andrewsweet, try this:
1. Open MXI viewer
2. Load tour image
3. Increase or decrease intensity to show the desired result in viewer
4. Copy the ISO, fStop, sSpeed values in the MXI viewer
5. Save MXI file with these settings
6. Go to your 3dApp
7. Paste fStop, sSpeed values into camera settings and ISO in plugin settings.
8. Disable daylight and sunlight
9. Make your MXI emitter
10. Render

Has anyone tried it in Cinema4D? I can't get it to work.
I'm right that I have to assign a material to the emitter-object that helds the mxi-image I want to use, or? But when I try to render the picture I get is only black.
What does the intensity say? Somethin about power in watts? Shall the picture be as bright as it is displayed, when I play around with intensity (with the same iso... ammount used when rendered) ?

MXI emitters capability is not available for cinema 4d at this time. Check your readme file in your plugin directory for maxwell render.
