I tried running this view again with 1.2.1. I removed all the maxwell tags and replaced them. I still have the black dot problem although not as bad as before......

Anyone else still having this problem?

Have you uninstalled first? Have you replaced 1.2 mats with 1.2.1 new ones?

n1tram:

Yes, I have made sure that all the old files were overwritten by 1.2.1 and all materials were replaced as mentioned in my original post.

Adam:

I have removed the sky dome and the dots seem to be clearing up, however, they are showing up in the preview. Weird!

Here's the image rendered without the sky dome and this in only an hour with just 8 samples:

This shows the problem in preview even though the actual render looks pretty good as long as I don't use the sky dome:

Kevin can you send us the mxs of black dots to maxwelltech@nextlimit.com.

We'll debug it to solve the problem.

The file is too large to email (over 14 MB). I have emailed a link where you can download it.....

Thanks,

Kevin

Confirmed : color dots are gone from the render, but still there in the preview window. Another good point : blur is gone too.

NOTE:
You may notice strange dotty artifacts on little preview window.
They are not about your final result, don't worry.

Oscar:

It doesn't seem the sky dome is being used though.....

Perhaps I uploaded the wrong .mxs with the sky dome disabled. Can you add the sky dome set to "1" to the existing .mxs without me uploading again?

Thanks,

Kevin
