19 hrs!!!!! that's too much. I wonder if the next patch is slower than beta 1.2.

Great Tom! I dont think 19h on a single p4 2.8 is not excesive. We are talking photoreal right here.

Plus most of the later samples (18-19) could have been ignored and postproduced, yet they consume huge amounts of calculating time. That depends on your own patience

Tom, could you post the times for each sample change?

thx for your comments!
first of all i'm glad to say it's a pure maxwell simulation.
19 hours is what i forget it on the oven :D it's 19 beta samples also! not less...
and it was already good enough to post at early stages.

philipbruton: having some small issues w/ aniso, will be fixed in near future.
oscar: ;)
maxwell05: it's not needed, you'll have it sooner...
Renato: i explained the reason above, no it's not slow and this scene is not easy.
fritz.arn: i'm not sure, maybe in the next one.
n1tram: you're absolutely right... i didn't log the samples but i can tell
the MaxwellBench as 12.794072 for this config.
adam: yes, actual size (800 x 500 pix)
rivoli: nop, one of my ugly bump drawing :P
raffi: :D

WOW  nice bump maps!

How is the non-DoF blurriness?

Is the 1.2.1 patch a little sharper? I don't mind the old alpha noise as long as the image looks sharp and clean.

I know NL is doing great work and I have already been spoiled with great results. Keep u the great renders.

Have you re-moved the pixel blur filter or made it a switch?

Thanks

Andy
As I said, the blur pixel was a bug, and has been fixed as you can see in the renders :)
