There was a bug in a previous version with the physical sky sunlight and dielectrics - no caustics were produced. Might be the same bug coming back.....in mutated form.....stronger than ever....

it's something i noticed yesterday night while rendering some new exciting glass+water. sunlight did produce caustics but with very strange patterns through the glass but did not produce any through a simple box windowlike.
thomas glass scene with emitters still looks fine though (even if turned out a bit overexposed).

Seems this beta takes ages to produce caustics :

This is lvl 21 render, and I think the shadow of the glass sould not be so dense as it is.

You're right, and also that black patch in the caustics should not be there. I think someone else made a test with bent boxes and caustics were only visible at certain angles.....most definitely a bug.

Check you DOF too. In Lightwave you need to make the adjustment or it will be blurry, just like this.

as i said many times already... dielettric do not work with beta .. glass cast same shadows as diffuse...BIG ENORMOUS BUG ... UNBELEVEABLE!!!

camillo if u had put a glass in the window u hadnt get any sort of light coming into the room .. i can assure u... that is not phisically correct at all
