Bump Problem

I am having problem with Bump Maps.
It seems that Maxwell Render cannot calculate reflections for bump maps.
I am working o a water material, and it looks like a flat surfacve although I am using a bump map.
If I try Normal maps they do work ok, although they are not suitable for my purpose.
If I try displacement maps they do work too, but they need too much memory.
Anyone having this problem?
Perhaps i am doing something wrong?

Did you set your bump value too high?

Showing us an image and some settings is a real good idea.

I have tried all possible values from 1 to 200 and none of them seem to work.
All they look really flat.... although I am using a standard water bumb map...

Ernesto, this question makes no sense because there's no such value. If you're not willing to post a few screenshots of your mesh and bump texture, I'm afraid this thread will go forever with you saying alone "none of these setting work", "bump does not work", "help me", etc. If you like, I can send you a scene with a bumpmap on water in action. Will it help you?

Yes Tom, If I can look at a working material that will hellp a lot!
thanks!

It means you don't have a correct UV mapping. Make one and see it will work. ;)

Tom, the UVs are ok.
If they weren´t a normal map wouldn´t work, and I could make it work.
Anyway I prefer a bump map beacuse the normal map gives a too strong effect, so that the water seems frozen.

Ernesto, it's not a success making this work but the opposite. :)
So, you could send me your failing scene and quench my thirst
about knowing the reason but anyway, here's a scene for you
and I hope it helps...

Download Scene (2.0)
Download Scene (1.7)

It worked ok in my scene too. so the problem was in my material...
Thanks a lot again!
I will use this water all the time!

One more question, about water material in underwater scenes:
is there a way to show dust inside the water volume?

Only with geometry such as a particle system, but not with material only. May be easier post-render.

OK, could you share your tip to make it fail?
