hi there
I am Andre, admin of the Rebus Render Farm
we are now supporting Maxwell render fully automated
to test the system we start a public Beta
you can render FOR FREE to help finding bugs
during beta we limit all jobs to 60PC and 20min
how to submit a render ?
simple and easy
http://www.rebusfarm.de/Video_Tutorials ... AXWELL.mov
Farminizer make sure, your job render without generating an error
-no missing maps
-no mesh errors
-no material errors
-you NOT need to "pack and go" your MXS
please register on my webside and creat an account to test the system
http://www.rebusfarm.com/mein-rebus/reg ... ormat=html
find installer here
WIN
http://www.rebusfarm.de/downloads/Rebus ... .4_RC1.exe
MAC
we are reworking the MAC install - some bugs poping up on 32vs64bit java - very annouing - Mac user must wait until fix is out
!! do not send confidential stuff !!
do not delete other users job in manager
in case of render error keep job in manager and report here or "info at rebusfarm.com"
known bugs
- if you use .mxm materials you need to "pack and go" from studio - previwe mxi of materials not uploading currently and render fail
if you have suggestions, questions or doubts just ask
have fun and lets hope the best
andre

what a surprice - a little bug
make sure you upload the render job - the "play" button is clickable even the renderjob is local - be aware ...

yes the file is missing in the install - shame to me
I have updated the installer so re-run it
otherwise
http://www.rebusfarm.de/downloads/mwcheck.zip
place the file into the same folder as manager.exe
we are reworking the MAC install - some bugs poping up on 32vs64bit java - very annouing - Mac user must wait until fix is out

who the heck is sending 3dsmax jobs ?
render your Labyrint file in your own account - not in the beta demo account
even if render finish you can not download the output so do not waste your time

I don't know about the others, but I kept having problems with uploading stuff: For example I had 6 maps and every time 2 or 3 where not able to be uploaded (an error occurred) and every time it was some different maps, not the same ones. So it took like 4 cycles to upload all the maps. Only the very last time I was able to upload all the stuff without a problem on the very first try. Also a similar problem with downloading occurred, plus once a strange thing happened: the system wrote: "an error occurred while downloading file..." but the .MXI turned out to be fully working.
I would also like to ask a few questions:
- is 'Multilight' supported?
- is it possible to preview the image in the middle of the rendering process?
- how exactly do I count the price of the render? Is there some faq or something on using 'Calculator'?
Thanks

I uploaded one project to test with, after over an hour rendering the scene the rendermanager reported the upload failed so i had to reupload it again and now restarted the rendering again. A second scene is also waiting to be rendered, i'll check them both tomorrow to see if they're finished or if they failed.

Found another problem:
Render crashes in the middle of the process:
[01:55:34] - Project b1.mxp has RenderID but is not in Smedge
after 'Referesh' file status is automatically switched 'Ready to Render'
here's another one:
[04:19:47] - Project t800hand.mxp has RenderID but is not in Smedge
