bad performance on quad core

hi guys ... got a problem with my new system.
notebook:
vista 32bit
quad core intel Q9000
4Gig RAM DDR3
Im working via c4d plugin. whenever sampling lvl 5 is reached it needs years to reach the next sampling levels even in testscenes with just a few cubes. no matter which
lightsource. even my old notebook with old dual core was few times faster in those testscenes.
the benchwell scene ran fine till SL15 with no problem but every scene I start on my own got this problem...
did someone experience something similar or has any clues what could cause this problem? some problems with the system maybe?
I got no idea

...
thanks in advance

heat?!? ...maybe it's getting too hot on longer turns and the cpu throttles? Did you check the core frequence?

hm... when it's a heat problem Im not sure why it should render the benchwell scene without problems to SL15 which of course needs more time than a cube form SL5 to SL6 ...
how do I chek the core frequency?

...ahh ok. i thought it lasted longer
i would use coretemp to check temps and frequency:
http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/
but i don't know if it already supports this cpu

When you open up the task manager does it show all cores at 100%? Did you set the threads to 0 in the scene settings to make sure it's using all cores?

mihai ... I'm used to maxwell settings
iin fact my new notebook has two hdd's and I installed maxwell and cinema on the second... seems like the settings for the swapfiles weren't set...
had no chance to check it after new settings ... be back soon with new info

nope .. that wasn't the failure.
four wall and a window with physical sky had a benchmark of 30 at SL3 ... shouldn't be -_-
too bad

Upload the scene if you want, maybe there's something strange in it. What score did you get for the benchwell scene?

which scene

even if i render 1 cube with physical sky this problem appears...
now the benchmark scene got the same problem I mentioned before.
heres a screen - after SL7 there's a big fallback ... can't explain it. maybe something with the cache?
cheers

nice... jorismx is really a nice guy!
you should have come definitely.
we were only two maxwell guys trying not to bore a (very charming) girl, that had nothing to do with renderers...
we need to do that again for sure!
@your problem:
have you tried any other processor test yet?
other benchmarks like cinebench or so...? normal results with those?

this i what I got on the cinebench test ... not pretty sure if this is ok for my system?!
