Odd Artifacts on Render. Preview just fine

Simple scene. Bump map on the spherical thing. Colored map on the BG. Reflections on the black. There is a light over head and a gray environment. Really simple

Preview renders as expected

Render viewport and render give these odd artifacts. I thought it was tied to cores, but I changed cores to 8, 0, 1, 2 and nothing helped. Anyone seen this?

Here is the scene file for the curious ones.

PS I am not an advanced Maxwell user, and I haven't touched it in a long time.

your emitter seems highly triangulated... try and decrease the number of polygons that you use for your emitters in general...
why not use a 1x1 plane instead... and see if that helps...

EDIT:
here's your scene after 6min... i replaced you highly triangulated emitter with a 1x1 plane from the mxst intern-library

EDIT 2:
just as a sidenote:
I saw in your render options that you have set the number of cpu threads to "1"... in case there are more core in your processor, you are giving away lots of power... cpu threads set to "0" lets the renderer use as much core as there are...

Thank you. I will take a look at that. Well the reason its so tessellated is that the light was a subdivision surface and was then frozen and tessellated as that was the way to get meshes from modo to MW. Thanks again.
